Frequently Asked Questions

For Buyers — Wholesale Sourcing
We broker bulk food ingredients across every major category: meat (beef, pork, poultry, specialty proteins), grains and flours (wheat, corn, rice, oats), seafood (wild and farm-raised), produce (fresh and frozen), dairy, dry goods, oils, spices, canned goods, nuts, and seeds. Our 10,000+ supplier network covers far more than what's listed on our website — if you need it in bulk, call us.
Silver Creek specializes in truckload quantities (typically 40,000–44,000 lbs depending on product density) and partial truckloads. Minimums vary by category — call us to discuss your specific volume. We work hard to find solutions that fit your needs without forcing you into quantities you can't use.
Most truckload sourcing completes in 7–14 business days from inquiry to delivery, depending on product and your location. Urgent needs are accommodated when possible — we've sourced full truckloads in 7–10 days when a client's primary supplier fell through.
Yes. Silver Creek is exclusively focused on U.S.-sourced food ingredients. This means faster logistics, simpler regulatory compliance, no import documentation headaches, and full supply chain transparency for your procurement team.
Standard commercial documentation: Bills of Lading, USDA inspection certificates (where applicable), and Certificates of Analysis (when available from supplier). For institutional clients with specific compliance requirements, we accommodate case-by-case — let us know your documentation needs at the inquiry stage.
Yes — we have 40+ active institutional partnerships including federal and state procurement clients (schools, prisons, hospitals, military commissaries, state agencies). We have experience with Buy American Act compliance, RFP/RFQ/IFB bid responses, and the documentation requirements that come with institutional purchasing.
For Sellers — Consolidation & Closeout
We purchase overstock, excess inventory, discontinued product lines, short-dated and near-expiry items, abandoned freight, odd-lot products, off-spec ingredients, frozen and refrigerated inventory, and customs-delayed imported product. If your product is safe, traceable, and movable, we'll likely have a path for it.
Pricing reflects current buyer demand, product category, volume, dating, condition, and logistics. We leverage 20+ years of market knowledge and active buyer relationships to make offers that reflect real market value — not lowball prices. Most categories of food inventory in good condition recover 40–80% of original cost basis.
Initial offer framework typically within 24–48 hours of receiving your inventory details. Full deal closure most commonly takes 5–14 business days depending on complexity. Urgent or time-sensitive situations (short-dated, customs holds, warehouse pressure) can be accelerated.
Yes. For sellers who need brand protection or don't want channel partners to know they're liquidating, we structure confidential transactions and sign NDAs upfront. We've handled sensitive deals for manufacturers who require discretion. Discuss confidentiality requirements when you contact us.
Truckload quantities are easiest to move, but we evaluate situations case-by-case. Partial loads, pallet quantities, and odd lots are considered — particularly for compelling product. If the inventory is meaningful, call us and we'll tell you straight whether we can help.
Short-dated inventory is one of our specialties. We have buyers across alternative channels (foodservice, value retail, institutional, export) who can move product quickly and legally before it becomes a write-off. Speed matters here — call as early as possible to maximize recovery.
Logistics, Terms & Process
Yes. For sourcing, we coordinate freight from supplier to your receiving dock with the carrier of choice. For consolidation, we coordinate pickup from your facility. We work with established logistics partners or your preferred carrier — whatever makes the deal work.
Standard NET-30 is available for established accounts. Alternatives like NET-15, prepay, or COD are discussed case-by-case. For consolidation sellers, payment terms are agreed up front before product moves so there are no surprises.
Our compensation is built transparently into each transaction — no hidden fees, no surprise commissions. Buyers see a delivered price; sellers see a net offer. Our margin is what makes the deal work for us; clarity makes the deal work for everyone.
Absolutely. Quotes and offer frameworks are no-commitment. We do ask for accurate product specs and quantities so we can give you real numbers — vague inquiries get vague answers, but specific inquiries get specific quotes within one business day.
Call us. Most of our best work happens on the phone — complex consolidations, unusual sourcing requirements, time-sensitive issues. Mark Frontczak and the Silver Creek team are happy to talk through your situation directly and tell you what's possible.
